Loku Festival Of Arunachal Pradesh & Hornbill Festival Of Nagaland
DAY 01: DIBRUGHAR TO KHONSA
Arrive in Dibrugarh, received and transferred to Khonsa (150kms/6hrs).Overnight in Khonsa.
DAY 02: KHONSA
Full day enjoy and experience the Loku festival of the Noctes. Overnight in Khonsa.
DAY 03: KHONSA – LAJU – KHONSA
After breakfast explore the Nocte villages in and around – Khate and Laju.Overnight at Khonsa.
DAY 04: KHONSA- WAKHA- LONGDING
After breakfast drive to Longding(116kms/05hrs) – full day explore the Nocte and Wancho tribes . Overnight stay at Longding.
DAY 05: LONGDING – SIBSAGAR
Today we drive to Sibsagar 6hrs to break the journey.Overnightt in Sibsagar.
DAY 06: SIBSAGAR - MON
After breakfast drive to Mon the Land of Konyak Tribes of Nagaland.Overnight in Mon.
DAY 07: MON
After breakfast drive to Shangnyu village, this village is ruled by the Chief Angh is a prominent village in Mon district. After returning from Shangnyu village visit Mon Village, here also you will find tattooed Konyaks. Post lunch drive to Chui village situated about 8kms from the district headquarters of Mon.After lunch drive to Langmeing to see head hunting trophies. On way back to Mon visit Chui village still retains its old world charm. One can see the Angh’s mansion and other houses constructed in the true Konyak tradition with palm leaves roofing and the main pillars jutting out. Overnight Mon.
DAY 08: MON – MOKOKCHUNG
After breakfast drive to Mokokchung (220kms 7 hrs drive), This picturesque town is the cultural center of the Ao tribes. The Ao Nagas is famous for their colorful dances. Evening visit Ungma village, the biggest Ao village and looks like an adjunct of Mokokchung town. According to legend, the early Aos settled here first after coming from Chungliyimti. This village is many centuries old and can be of interest to people who have a desire to peep into Ao folklories, customs and traditions. Overnight at Mokokchung or Mopunchyukit village guesthouse (20 kms away from Mokokchung). Overnight in Mokokchung.
DAY 09: MOKOKCHUNG – KOHIMA
After breakfast drive to Kohima – enroute visit Longkhum village.A vanguard village of the Aos in the days of headhunting strategically situated at an altitude of 1846mtrs.Overnight at Kohima.
DAY 10: KOHIMA
Full day enjoy the “HORNBILL” festival. Overnight at kohima.
DAY 11: KOHIMA
Full day enjoy the “HORNBILL” festival. Overnight at kohima.
DAY 12: KOHIMA – DIMAPUR
Drive to Dimapur to connect flight to onward destination.
